January 2026

Hello Magical Humans!

Well, here we are at the beginning of a new calendar year full of intentions and possibilities. Astrologically speaking, though, we are still moving through the last quarter of a yearly cycle. That is to say, this is not a beginning; so, if you are still in hibernation mode, that is completely understandable.

Collectively, we are ushering in a new cycle based on the Gregorian calendar and there is something to be said about riding the momentum of a group. At the same time, if we tune into the season and what nature is modeling for us (at least here in North America), the message is: rest, release, restore. How do we work simultaneously with two very different parts of a cycle, and with clashing modes of operation?

This sort of dynamic shows up in our own natal charts in unique combinations of themes and flavors; we are all simultaneously moving through varying stages of learning cycles. One part of you may long to travel the world, while another wants to hide under the covers in your softest PJs. One part of you loves spontaneity and surprises while another demands predictability and structure. Perhaps your career cycle is at a new beginning, while your cycle for certain relationships is in a dissolving stage.

You’ll recognize this tension in the moments you ask “what is wrong with me?!” and “why is this happening to me?!” Well, I have good news: Absolutely nothing is wrong with you, and nothing is happening to you. These apparent clashes within your own character- and the challenges in your life- are exactly where growth and action spring forth.

Understanding my own natal chart and my transits has helped me to bring compassion, patience, and understanding to myself no matter what is going on externally. My chart shows me where parts of my character work together, where they clash, and where some have a tendency to gang up one another. My transits show me where I am in multiple cycles and how to work with each one accordingly.

To show you what I mean, I’m going to introduce you to one of the inner dynamics that I live with. Meet Edna: She’s my internal copywriter (aka Mercury/thinking and communication department)

Oh dear, dear Edna. She’s the type to take on way too much, driven by a relentless need to get to the bottom of everything. She’s quite the go-getter and wants to do everything with absolute excellence, but the truth is, she doesn’t take enough breaks and that is a bit of a problem.

She also happens to have a direct line of communication with my intuition- the High Priestess (aka my Moon). They’re constantly facing off, locked in a permanent gaze from opposite sides of the room.

The High Priestess has all kinds of helpful information stored in the unconscious (which, P.S., holds about 95% of our stuff). She has the context to understand and nurture all the other parts, but guess what? Edna needs tangible proof, people. She wants receipts. Edna only really listens to the HP when she’s taking a break, but most of the time, she just catches snippets and then writes an outrageous story about them. Rude, right?

That dynamic is already complex enough, but WAIT—plot twist! This relationship is, in fact, a throuple. The third member is The Wise Guy (aka Pluto). On a good day, he’s Master Yoda, trying to teach the other two how to use the Force. On a rough day…

When he sees weakness in the other two, this version of The Wise Guy encourages Edna to write some pretty dark stories. Mainly, they are full of assumptions, paranoia, and blame. Oh, and he makes HP cry.

My friends, knowing this dynamic is so helpful! I can recognize when The Wise Guy is being a tyrant, which turns Edna into a control freak and leaves poor HP feeling it all and going catatonic.

When I spot this, I know the way out is to nurture HP (music, a bath, a snack) and to close the office so Edna can take a break (journaling, meditation, or reading something inspiring). Finally, Master Yoda shows up, and even though he plays it cool, he’s so freaking proud of the other two for taking their power back.

Knowing your parts and how to work with them doesn’t mean you skip the challenges, but it certainly helps you recognize the patterns and the truth behind the messages more quickly. It gives you an objective view so that you can decide whether you’d like to keep running that same old program or upgrade it.

So, whatever shows up for you in 2026, know that you always have the key to setting your own inner magnet. While you are tinkering in there, you might as well set it to attract frequencies of joy, love, and abundance.

If you are feeling unsure how to do that, I’ll be sharing a free monthly series starting this month on how to recognize and upgrade the programs, patterns, and beliefs you are unconsciously running. Each month, the tools will be in alignment with the astrological season and the cosmic weather. To join, simply sign up for my Celestial Circle community. I will be sharing more of the cosmic weather and how to work with it in that mid-monthly community email (which is the entirety of the community happenings at this time).
